Terms and Conditions for Illustration Commissions

I. Payment Method

  1. Payment in Advance: Full payment is required before starting the commission.
  2. Accepted Payment Methods:
    • PayPal only.
    • I will send an invoice to your PayPal email. The commission process will begin once the invoice has been paid in full.

II. What You Will Receive

The completed commission will include:

  1. Digital Files:
    • PNG file (High-resolution)
    • TIFF file (if needed)
  2. Source Files:
    • Source files (e.g., PSD, AI, Clip Studio) are not included in the base price. If you need the source file for the artwork, this will incur an additional fee. Please inform me at the beginning of the commission if this is required.
  3. Delivery of Final Files:
    • The final artwork will be delivered digitally via email or a file-sharing service. No physical copies will be provided unless otherwise agreed upon in advance.

III. Commercial Use and Rights

Commercial Use:
Commercial rights are included with all commissioned artwork, but these rights are shared between the client and the artist. This means you are granted the right to use the commissioned artwork for your commercial project (e.g., books, posters, merchandise), while I retain the right to use the artwork for self-promotion and certain products.

Artist’s Rights:
As the creator, I retain the right to:

  1. Share the process and final artwork on my social media, portfolio, and website.
  2. Use the artwork in compilations of my work, such as artbooks or promotional materials for myself or my illustration studio (Dócari Studio).
  3. Display the commissioned piece as part of my portfolio to showcase my skills and style.

However, I acknowledge that I cannot resell or license the artwork or its source files to another client or third party. My usage will not infringe upon your commercial rights for the project.

Client’s Rights:

  1. You are granted shared commercial rights to use the artwork for your business or project, such as marketing, publishing, or product creation.
  2. Proper credit to Dócari Studio as the illustrator is required when sharing the artwork publicly (e.g., “Artwork by Dócari Studio”).
  3. Altering, modifying, or reselling the artwork to third parties is not permitted unless explicitly agreed upon before the commission starts.

NSFW Projects:
I do not accept or work on NSFW (Not Safe For Work) projects or illustrations. Please ensure your commission request aligns with this policy before proceeding.

IV. Work Process

The work will proceed through the following stages:

  1. Sketch:
    • After receiving payment and all necessary details, I will send an initial sketch of the concept.
    • Revisions: Prices include all necessary revisions during the sketching stage. Major adjustments to the concept, composition, or design can be made at this point. Once the sketch is approved, only minimal or color changes will be allowed.
    • Major changes after this point will incur an additional fee, equal to 1/3 of the commission price.
  2. Lineart and Base Colors:
    • Minor revisions are allowed at this stage. You may also request adjustments to the color palette.
  3. Final Colors:
    • The final artwork will be sent to you once completed.
    • No further revisions are accepted at this stage unless an error was made on my part.

Please note that the process may vary depending on the complexity of the commission.

V. Refund Policy

  1. Once the payment is made, it is understood that you agree to all the terms outlined in this document.
  2. No refunds will be issued once the commission has progressed past the sketching stage.
  3. Refunds are only offered if I am unable to complete the commission for unforeseen reasons. In such cases, a full or partial refund may be offered depending on the amount of work completed at the time.

By proceeding with payment, you agree to the terms and conditions outlined above.
